While many teachers may transition smoothly, there would probably be enough that wouldn't. I don't recall any issues migrating 2.5 to 2.6 or 2.6 to 2.7. You'll like what you see when you test it! We don't want to make the switch mid year and disrupt what teachers are used to. I am chomping at the bit to upgrade. I am going to be installing WPMU on a test server next week. It sounds fantastic.
